Wine & Life

Stories we're featuring in this issue:

Folks at this issue's featured Label Art winery describes it as a "straight-talking, boots in the dirt, fun-loving brand," and we think the new look captures that quite nicely. See if you agree!

Finally - it's that time of year when a weekend by the pool is all that's on the schedule. Well, that and some tasty eats that can be easily adapted to feed a crowd. For this issue's Party Planning, simply mix up a big batch of coleslaw the day before - the flavors improve overnight! - as well as several batches of the Corn Prosciutto biscuits. Then it's just a question of quickly boiling shrimp in their shells for a delicious feast. Oh, and don't forget to top things off with summery strawberry sundaes!

From the first day of summer, to July 4th, to parties by the pool -- it's time to stock up on summer entertaining essentials, like the handpicked favorites in this issues Wine & Food Links!

Of the many reasons to look forward to summer, flavorful heirloom and vine-ripened tomatoes may be at the top of our list. A completely different beast than those insipid, hard bland things that appear in the markets off-season, a perfectly ripe tomato smells and tastes like summer itself. Here are a few of our favorite Quick Entertaining ideas for summer tomatoes!

A recent stay in Georgetown provided some fun wandering time - perhaps what life as a local might be like… Complete with borrowed brownstone (including the owner's golden retriever) and a slew of choices within walking distance. But for one visit to the Mall, this was not a sightseeing trip. Just a little dabbling in the neighborhood scene. Read more in Wine & Travel!
