Wine Review Archive - Chile, Malbec
($8). Light,
with a straightforward combination of
red fruit and herbal notes. Ready to
drink now. (Weekend Wine , 10/03)
($13).
Supple and delicious, with loads of red
berry fruit, milk chocolate notes and
deep spices. Ready to drink now. (Weekend
Wine , 10/03)
($15). Red cherry
and berry fruit is accented with smoke
and creamy milk chocolate notes, with
toasty oak running through the finish.
Medium bodied. Tasty! Ready to drink now
and over the next year or two. (Winery
Spotlight, 10/02)
($50). Opulent
and lush, with a deep violet color and
heady black currant, chocolate and spice
aromas that carry through on the palate,
along with espresso, tobacco and earthy
notes. Finishes long and strong with
a toasty oak character. A blend of Malbec
(90%) and Cabernet Sauvignon. Quite
impressive -- especially for just the
second release of this proprietary blend
from Chile. Ready to drink now and over
the next three years. (Splurge Wine
12/04)
($12). Densely colored, with spicy dark
chocolate aromas and flavors that lace
lip smacking, medium bodied cherry and
black plum fruit. Moderate finish includes
light tar and herbal notes. Easy to drink.
Ready to drink now. (Bargain Wine 10/04)
