Bella Sera

2004 Pinot Grigio delle Venezie ($7). Nice! Juicy citrus and crisp apple fruit mingle with aromatic apricot and refreshing mineral notes. Slurpably delish. Ready to drink now. (Italian Connection 04/05)

2003 Chardonnay delle Venezia ($7). Crisp apple and smooth tropical fruit flavors and aromas are laced with toasty oak and a touch of vanilla. Nothing overly complex, but crisp and refreshing. Ready to drink now. (Italian Connection 04/05)

2003 Pinot Grigio Venezie ($7). Medium bodied and refreshing, with juicy citrus and crisp apple flavors on a smooth frame. Easy to enjoy any time! Ready to drink now. (Weekend Wine 02/05)

Bertani 2004 Pinot Grigio-Sauvignon Delle Venezie Due Uve ($14). Uncomplicated but simply satisfying, this blend of Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc offers juicy citrus and green apple fruit, with just a trace of mineral dryness. Ready to drink now. (Italian Connection 06/06)

Bollini 1997 Pinot Grigio Grave del Friuli Reserve Selection ($16). This is what I want in a good Italian Pinot Grigio -- crisp citrus and acidity, but not so lean that it disappears. Clean finish, good price. Ready to drink now. (Wine Tasting Party, 08/00)

Borgo Conventi 2006 Sauvignon Blanc Collio ($15). Appealing for its delicate dried apple, peach and fresh citrus flavors that stay pretty and pick up touches of fresh herbs and mineral through the finish. Lovely as an aperitif or paired with shellfish starters or antipasti. Ready to drink now. (Weekend Wine 02/08)

Castello di Gabbiano 2003 Pinot Grigio Venezie ($10). Pretty, apple fresh nose leads to crisp citrus and apple flavors. Light-bodied and easy to gulp! Ready to drink now. (Weekend Wine, 06/04)

Conte Brandolini 2005 Pinot Grigio Friuli-Venezia Giulia ($13). Easy to like, with bright, juicy green apple and citrus notes mingling through the refreshing finish. Ready to drink now. (Wine Tasting 04/07)

Ecco Domani

2005 Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie ($11). Crisp and juicy, with floral aromas introducing melon and moderate tropical flavors that linger through the finish. Ready to drink now. Try with a simple assortment of prosciutto, green olives and fresh mozzarella. (Bargain Wine 08/06)

2004 Pinot Grigio delle Venezie ($11). Appealing nectarine and lime aromas and flavors add up to a refreshing quaff -- and a great deal! Ready to drink now. (Weekend Wine 08/05)

Fantinel 1997 Pinot Grigio Collio ($16). This is a beautifully balanced wine, with orchard fruit, nuts (maybe almond? maybe hazelnut?) and floral notes and should drink nicely for the next couple of years. An excellent Pinot Grigio at a good price. (Robyn’s Picks, 10/99)

La Tunella

2001 Pinot Bianco Colli Orientali del Friuli ($14). Lovely ripe melon and floral bouquet leads to bright, clean honeydew and apple fruit. Medium-bodied, balanced acidity, with a pleasantly lingering finish. Very nice. Ready to drink now. (Weekend Wine, 03/03)

2001 Pinot Grigio Colli Orientali del Friuli ($14). Very simple on the bouquet and palate, with fresh apple and just a touch of sweet mineral notes. Ready to drink now. (Weekend Wine, 03/03)

Pierpaolo Pecorari, 1996 Pinot Grigio Isonzo del Friuli ($18). There’s something about this wine that makes me want to call it a classic Pinot Grigio. Crisp, dry, but still fruity and complex, it is everything you want a Pinot Grigio to be. (Robyn’s Picks, 10/99)

Ruffino

2006 Pinot Grigio Venezia-Giulia Lumina ($13). Juicy pear and crisp nectarine are tinged with lemon, staying fruity and fresh straight through the finish. Ready to drink now. (Italian Connection 08/07)

2004 Pinot Grigio Venezia-Giulia Lumina ($13). Light, with gentle melon and fresh citrus flavors that linger on the moderate finish. Ready to drink now. (Italian Connection 12/05)

Stellina di Notte 2006 Pinot Grigio Venezie ($10). Very nice, with crisp, juicy citrus and light apple notes. Stays fresh and light through the finish. Ready to drink now. (Weekend Wine 02/08)
